Xena Authentic Coffin piece

Today, I bring some news. One of my lastest adquisition is a piece of the Xena coffin used in the episode "The Quest" from season 2.

Xena died in "Destiny". She was brutally beaten with a tree trunk causing an internal spill.

When Xena died in "Destiny", Gabrielle decided to bring Xena's body back to Amphipolis with her brother, Lyceus. The coffin can be seen during the episode in plenty of times.

Xena's coffin was auctioned off once the series ended and the original buyer choose to cut up the coffin and sell off the pieces arround the world to international collectors.

The coffin being far to large to ship and store for most collectors. It was made from a combination of plywood, foam, varnish, paint and circular paua shell. The paua shells was a way to identify Xena's props. All her weapons and saddle bag have paua shells inlays.

The piece Ive adquired is a big one, probably the biggest one Ive ever seen. Ive been studying for a while the lid of the coffin and comparing it with some screencaps, and I realized that this piece belongs to the lower part of the lid where Xena placed her feet.

It is made of plywood with foam resin flower design which is filled in with hard plaster on the edges. The whole coffin was painted in brown tones.

Hope you've enjoy it! See you soon.
