Screenused Roman shield prop

Another prop I have never posted before is this large shield with faces reliefs seen in plenty of episodes from Xena: Warrior Princess tv series and Hercules: The legendary journeys tv series.

General view - Front.

General view - Back

It has many faces reliefs around the middle section. This shield is made of fiberglass and painted in golden tones with an aged effect. It has a few holes probably to be hanged properly.

This shield was mostly seen hanged in the background wall of many sequences. For example, in the episode "Sacrifice II" from season 3, hanged in the main hall where Hope is reborn.

Or in the episode "Looking to the death eye" from season5, was seen hanged in the background of Octavius tent.

Screenused Spear prop

A few days ago I have released that I had never posted before this beautiful spear prop. So here it is, a screenused Spear used by Xena played by Lucy Lawless in the episode “The Last of the Centaurs”, also used by Belach soldiers in the same episode and in the episode “The Way” used by Hanuman.

 General view.

The materials of this spear are mainly wood, soft foam for the blade and hard resin in the middle section. In my opinion, this spear was used in the episode "The Way" when Hanuman appears in the middle of the fight of Xena/Khrisna and Indrajit, Hanuman fights Indrajit demons. The spear is almost the same lenght that the one used in that sequence. (Photo of Hanuman with the spear at the bottom).

Screenused Ares scabbard

The other day I realized that I never posted before this treasure: this is an Ares screenused scabbard prop used by Kevin Smith in the earlier seasons.

Front general view.

This leather scabbard was seen in the episode "The Xena Scroll" and "Intimate Stranger" from season 2.

It is made in black blue leather and metal ornaments. As I already know the costume and prop department used the same conchos and ornaments for multiple pieces, in this case there is a couple of Xena's whip style ornaments, a dinar style piece and the popular amazon emblem.

Front close-up.

In the first season the scabbard had a different ornament in the middle section arround the oval piece, the traces of glue can still be seen.

Screenused Evil Xena Sword

Screenused Evil Xena sword prop used by Lucy Lawless in plenty of episodes in the past flashbacks: “Adventures sin trade part I & II”, “Past Imperfect”, “The last of the centaurs or “A friend in need I”. Also seen on screen used by Borias played by Marton Csokas and Crassus in the episode “When in Rome…”.

This sword is made of heavy resin with a metal rod inside. The painting is mostly in good condition although it has a bit of wear of being used in battle scenes probably. It came with a COA from The Prop Store from London that certify that the item is “Lucy Lawless Sword”.

Athena High Elite Archer Costume

A few months ago I have adquired this beautiful screenused worn Athena High Elite Archer costume used in Xena: Warrior Princess tv series worn by an unknown character. The Athena High Elite Archer safeguard Athena and perform the tasks ordered by the goddess. Inside the costume each piece has written different names, probably each piece was used by a different stunt actresses.

General view.

This costume never left New Zealand after the show ended in 2001. It was seen in the episodes “Amphipolis under siege” and “Looking to the death eye” from season 5. The costume is almost complete, except the helmet and the upper armbands

Side view.

The top, belt and kneeguards are made of cowhide leather, but the corset, skirt pieces, and sleeves appear to be made of ostrich leather using skin from the bird’s body and scaly legs. The costume has many laces to be adjusted but the result worth it.
