Indian dagger

“It’s funny— here, you’re the warrior— the hero.” Xena as Arminestra

“Xena, in this lifetime, the mother of peace would be a goddess to me.  That’s a hero.” Gabrielle as Shakti.

A recent addition to my collection is this indian style dagger used by Xena as Arminestra, the Mother of Peace in the episode “Bewteen the lines” from season 4. A Darsham named Naiyima became aware of the difficulties that would arise in the karmic cycle if Khindin could not be defeated and sent Xena’s soul forward in time in the hopes of tricking Alti into traveling backwards, so that she would face a stronger incarnation of Xena.

This same style dagger was used in the episode “Who’s Gurkham” from season 6 when Gabrielle was going to kill Gurkham to avenge the death of her family, but clearly the one used for that scene is a metal dagger.

The jambiya is a traditional dagger with a short, curved blade, originating from the Hadramaut region of Yemen, although its use has spread to other parts of the Middle East, the Arab world, and South and Southeast Asia. This dagger is made of solid resin with a metal rod inside to prevent for bending. It is still in mint condition.
