Xena Hero Leathers Prototype

Hello guys, 4 years ago I've acquired this costume from the Omarama Gallery from New Zealand, now, named Totara Peak Gallery/Big Rooster Antiques & Collectables that is an unique antique store that had various collections and items of interest. In the past, this gallery had an amazing Xena collection with plenty of mannequins wearing some screen used wardrobes and props from the tv series. Many people had visited the store just to watch their impressive collection. But nowadays, that had ended, the owners' daughter took over the business and decided to sell the entire collection in 2017/18 and each costume has a new place anywhere around the world.

This costume was never used on screen, this is a prototype Xena leather dress. I was told this costume was made with the same materials (leather, rings, chakram hook, dress medallion, rivets and eyelets) and probably same size that Lucy worn in the series, however they decided to modified the frontal pattern to be differentiate from the screenused ones.

This costume is made of genuine dark leather, I imagine this costume was made in the latest seasons because of the colour of the leather used. In the early seasons Xena costume was brown/ reddish dark brown and in season 5 she reappeared with a costume in darker shade in the episode "Amphipolis under Siege" and the whole season 6. The medallion is made out of a heavy resin and the chakram hook is strong metal hook covered with leather and its attached to the costume with a leather strip. In addition, the costume has a metallic-looking fabric that is under the leather skirt. It looks amazing!

Gabrielle Hero metal cuffs

After many years of research for this cuffs finally I have got the perfect matched Gabrielle cuffs. Here are a pair of Gabrielle style cuffs seen in season 5 and 6 from the tv series. This costume department from the production of the Xena: Warrior Princess didn't make this cuffs, they bought them from an external company to been used by Gabrielle played by Renée O'Connor during the lastest season. So well, I did the same and after a few years I got them. This are the first and last cuffs the character of Gabrielle ever used.

This cuffs are made of metal that is combined with brown leather and rivets to be properly adjusted to a woman wrist.

The one that Gabrielle has in her left had is one piece metal cuff very detailed with leather and rivets in the sides.

The cuff that Gabrielle has in her right hand is a composite of 3 different cuffs, each one is different. And they are joined together because are glued to the inner leather piece.

Updated Screenused Gabrielle Hero costume photos

 Recently I am in the work of updating the photographs of my collection and I wanted to update the photos of my Gabrielle Hero season 3&4 costume worn by Renée O'Connor herself and it includes the COA that can prove it. So proud! there was a time that I was really obsessed with that costume. Here are the 20 new photos, enjoy!

Screenused Amazon Scabbard

I never posted before an entry of my screenused Amazon scabbard prop. I bought it a few years ago directly from New Zealand and it is still in good shape and condition.

This scabbard was seen in mostly all Amazons episodes in the back of the women amazon tribe. It is made of real leather and rivets, some of them have oxide due to the passage of time.

Screenused Amazon Shield

Recently I have adquired this screenused Amazon turtle shield prop directly from New Zealand, after the show ended this shields style never left the country, they were stored by a former Xena tv series member, Anna Low, and recently sold to another person who decided to sell them. In this case is one of my favorite amazon items that will match with my other amazon stuff and Solari and Varia costumes.

This screenused Amazon turtle shield was used by the amazons in the season 6 episode "To Helicon and Back" during the beach invasion when the amazon tribe was under siege. It is hard resin painted to resemble a tortoise shell, and in the back part has a pair of leather straps to be hold. The numbering on the leather strap was added by former Xena crew member for inventory purposes. This one is number 7/26 units.

Particulary this shield has been preserved in very good condition so the paint is almost in mint condition 21 years ago the episode "To Helicon and back" was filmed.
