This last year came with unique treasures additions to my collection, I hope 2026 comes with new discoveries and wondergul pieces that are just resurfacing after more than 25 years after the series ended. I will share with you all and continue Xena's legacy for the eternity.

Mum's wood showcase

I decided to pick up this vintage wooden showcase from my mum’s home and display my Xena’s collection differently. Xena is a vintage series, why not a vintage furniture to display it.

 

 

Here there is my set used hero resin chakram, Xena's hero boot, Xena's boot dagger, Xena's Creation whip, Xena's screen used swords (up, Xena's hero plated sword, down, Xena's hero resin sword signed by Lucy) and leather scabbard, Xena's hero metal Yin Yang chakram, Gabrielle's hero plated sai and Gabrielle's stunt foam sais. 

Here there is Callisto's metal Creation sword, Callisto's metal dagger from Todd's Costumes, Athena's stunt sword, Athena's style dagger, Gabrielle's Helicon Amazon Queen sword signed by Renée, Prometheus's metal hero sword, Hord Axe, Xena's Valkyrie stunt helmet, Livia's stunt sword and  Xena's Creation breast dagger.

Mix of props: Xena's sacred katana, Gabrielle's Higuchi Millitia sword, Morloch's sword, Skull style sword, Amazon swords and scabbard, some daggers and Hercules's gauntlets in the back.

Callisto´s sword

Callisto's sword is probably the rarest prop or replica of the whole Xenaverse. The character of Callisto, Xena's nemesis played by Hudson Leick, became very popular during the Xena golden years and her weapon became a iconic one easily to identify.

In my years of collecting I have just seen about 2/3 Callisto's swords on sale and a few of them in private collections. 

 I have found this awesome sword last year in the Premiere Props auction, I was very lucky to win it. On side of the sword came full of signatures of mostly all the cast of the series. However, I am not fan of the signed prop and replicas, some of them were being erased, so I decided to kept Lucy's signature in the cross-guard and remove the blade other ones.

Here is my Callisto's metal sword prop replica forgeg by the same blacksmith from the series from the same mold that the ones used on screen. This sword was distributed by Creation Entertainment in a limited run of less than 250 units wordwide.

Callisto's metal dagger

My lastest acquisition is a Callisto’s metal dagger replica from Todd Coyle. I never thought I was going to be able to find this dagger, but it happened. 

Probably is the rarest replica from this company, I have just seen a few of them in the last 15 years. I had several conversations with Todd in the last weeks and he confirmed that he made a mold of a resin casting from the show, the set used dagger he owned was rough, so he took time to clean up the sculpture and cast it in metal.

This one is numbered #87. There weren’t sold no more than 100/200 units. The dagger is made of solid aluminum and leather wrapped in the handle.

The dagger was sold originally with a leather sheath and a certificate of authenticity from Davis Merchandising Corp 2006©️. A very rare replica that completed my Callisto’s costume.

Iconic swords

This last year I have the chance to find all these beauties: Xena Creation sword, Callisto Creation sword, screen used Livia sword and screen used Prometheus sword. Which one is your favorite?

Callisto Creation sword

I never thought I would find the iconic Callisto metal sword prop replica forged by the actual Xena prop masters at Pacific Renaissance in New Zealand.

 It is a limited run to 250 worldwide, probably the rarest Xena metal prop replica around the world.

In this case, this sword was auctioned off in 2002 at the Xena Con in California and donations for auction went for Kevin Smith’s family after he passed away. Some of those swords were signed by the Xena cast including Lucy, Renée, Hudson, Ted and others members. 

  

Callisto sword is iconic in itself, you can see this sword during all the seasons, so Callisto wasn’t the only character that used this sword style along the tv series. During season 1-4 was used mostly by Callisto played by Hudson Leick. After, in season 5 during the last episodes (Livia, Eve and Motherhood) was used by Virgil played by William Gregory Lee and later, in season 6, was seen in “When Fates collide” used by Julius Caesar played by Karl Urban. 

The sword is in mint condition with just a few visible scratches. It is made completely of metal, the handle textured fabric was casted too. If I almost had all my xena props dreams came true, Callisto Creation sword was probably one of the hardest to reach out.

Prop Display (Burbank, Xena/Herc Convention 1998)

There was a time when a huge Xena props shadow box were displayed. This is the case of the Hercules/Xena Convention in 1998, this prop display was set up in the Burbank Hilton parking during the convention took place. All props displayed are easily identifiable: a Horde axe, chakram, breast dagger, Callisto sword, Xena sword and the “Miss Amphipolis” contest scroll. 

For all xenites, why don’t we restart that activity with some Xena collectors items, I'm sure there would be thousands of people wishing to see something similar, don’t you think?

Xena, Gabrielle & Callisto costumes

Yesterday, I had the thought that I never had the main female characters displayed together, and I decided to leave Julius Caesar on one side and let the women together. When I was young I always wanted to see these three women side by side.

Callisto is wearing her metal dagger replica and her metal sword replica in the back. In the other side, Gabrielle has her screenused sais in her boots attached in the sai straps (one boots has the screenused ones from season 6 and the other the screenused brown leather strap from season 5 wardrobe).

Behind Callisto is a Xena sword metal replica inside the leather scabbard. Behind Xena mannequin is the Yin Yang chakram distributed by Creation Entertainment and behind Gabby mannequin is the metal sais distributed by Creation Entertainment.
