The Return of the Valkyrie

One of my favourite costumes of all over the series. Here is a screenused Xena Valkyrie costume. I will post early some detailed photos.

Full costume is the corset, armour, skirt, gaunlet, boots, helmet, sword and shealth. Also, ea*The only thing is that it is only one gaunlet, I will search for the other one. 

Valkyrie armour leaves were made of a kind of flexible translucent resin but with the time are easier to break, however, this costume is in very good condition.

About the helmet, for me the most interesting part. This helmet is in great condition, theres a tag inside that says "Xena" and also is written in a particulary hidden place "Xena Double Stuntie". I will post more photos of that things.

Comparing Gabrielle's Sai

Hello friends! Today I bring a special photo with Gabrielle's latest weapons during the tv series.

Yesterday I received the screen-used sai used by Gabrielle played by Renée O'Connor and I realized that were a masterpiece and I was very proud of owning them, always I believe that sharing some photos will make many people feel grateful and pleased of it, as I already know.

So, inside the shadowbox of the Creation Entertainment sai replicas I've placed the screen-used sai to make a fast comparison:

1. The material is different, screen-used sai are solid resin on the handle and soft resin, foam, in the blade. Although, the inside of them have a metal heart to give more consistency to the weapon and thus, to prevent it from bending. Creation are metal as we all know.
2. As you see, the blade of the screen-used sai is thicker and much more detailed that the Creation Ent ones.
3. The handle of both pair of sai are the same size.
4. Also, the notches on the handle and blade are much more visible in the screen-used ones.
5. The leather wrap on the handle is painted resin on the screen-used sai, instead of the Creation Ent sais is real leather.
6. Screen-used sai have signs of wear and the tips are a bit bent from fighting scenes, on the other hand, the Creation Ent sai looks perfectly polished and no signs of wear.

In conclusion, Creation Ent sai are iconic, made of metal and looks amazing inside the shadow box. The screenused sais are also iconic, you can breathe the essence of the tv series on them, is a piece of heart of Xena: Warrior Princess tv series from the 90's and just thinking Renée used them at some point makes me feel so proud. I love each piece of my collection, that is the reason I bought them. However, this pair of screenused sais have a special place in my heart. 💗💗💗

Gabrielle screen-used sai and Creation Ent replicas together.

Gabrielle's screen-used sai

Here is a pair of Gabrielle's screen-used sai used by Renée O'Connor and double stunts during the production of the lastest seasons of the tv show. 

They are made out of heavy resin and the blade is made of a kind of soft resin, foam. Remember that the metal ones were rarely used on set because they can easily hurt anyone. Probably, they were used often and the tips are bent from fighting scenes.

These sai come with a COA from the "It's a Wrap!" US auction. Renée O'Connor and her stunt double used sai in most of the action sequences of the fifth and sixth season.

New Display Mannequin

And finally my Brunnhilda wardrobe has a great mannequin to be displayed.

Here you can see every single detail of the costume: the corset with the gold medallion attached, the gold and leather belt that holds the scabbard in the right side, golden cuffs on each hand, the lamb cape can be seen on the back, the skirt looks amazing also and boots can be displayed over the mannequin.

However, as you can see the sword isnt Brunnhilda, this is a Roman type sword. I think soon I will get the Brunnhilda sword from a US collector that would sell it to me, since that this one looks well also.

Xena Coffin Piece Identification

Today, I want to share this. After searching for edges, finally Ive got a photo of the complete Xena coffin lid before it was cut. Also, I can identify my piece from the lid and I released that belongs from the lower part where Xena placed her feet.

As you can see in the image, if you compare the placement of the paua shells over the lid you can match that is the lower part.

As I've written before in the Xena Authentic Coffin entry. Xena's coffin was auctioned off once the series ended and the original buyer choose to cut up the coffin and sell off the pieces arround the world to international collectors. The coffin being far to large to ship and store for most collectors. It was made from a combination of plywood, foam, varnish, paint and circular paua shell. The paua shells was a way to identify Xena's props. All her weapons and saddle bag have paua shells inlays.

Xena Screenused "Mortal Beloved" Dagger

One of the lastest adquisitions Ive got its: "The Screenused Retractable Dagger" used by Lucy Lawless in the episode "Mortal Beloved" to kill Marcus when they were in the underworld to return the helmet of invisibility to Hades.

The dagger blade is made out of heavy metal and the handle and leather wrapped are resin. Also, the blade is retractable, that was the kind of special effects from the 90's. However, it's in very good condition for have been used in 1995. I've adquired this dagger from a collector that bought a large batch of props in the Turners Auction in New Zealand in 2001, and it has been stored since then.

Here is Lucy Lawless holding the dagger after killing Marcus in front of Hades.

This kind of metal props and retractable daggers and swords used to be wielded by main characters, like Lucy Lawless, and for scenes with short and detailed shots or close-ups.

In my opinion, the screenused daggers are one of the more demanded props used in the tv show that every xenite could have one at least.

Brunnhilda Wardrobe

Here is the complete Brunnhilda Scrennused wardrobe from the lastest season of the series. Brunnhilda appears in the episode "The Rheingold" and became the guest starring of the nordic Ring Trilogy.  The costume is in good condition and it's a mix of the wardrobes from Brittney Powell as is the corset, skirt and scabbard, and the pair of boots and cuffs used by Sheree Swords, Brunnhilda Stunt Double. Hope you enjoy it!

Brunnhilda Leather Corset used by Brittney Powell, the brown leather corset has the golden belt attached on the sides of the corset and the gold medallion comes in the center of the chest. The belt is made of leather and gold metal pieces attached in it. The gold medallion is also made of metal.

Brunnhilda green velvet skirt, the skirt is quite long and its made of a green velvet with leather in the ends.

Brunnhilda pair of gold cuffs, the original used by Brittney Powell might be of metal, however this pair of cuffs are made out of leather and a kind of plastic is used for details.

Brunnhilda Leather Scabbard with gold details, this is a really heavier piece of the wardrobe and if you see the metal gold details are the same as the ones of the belt.
