Screenused Amazon Helicon sword

Recently I received this screenused amazon sword used by the amazons queens in the episode "To Helicon and back" from season 6 when they travelled to Helicon to rescue Varia from Bellerophon, the demi-god son of Artemis.

This sword style was also used by Varia (see Varia costume) played by Tsianina Joelson in the end of this episode. For a strong amazon nation!

I've bought it from Prop Store London last month and it arrived yesterday. It is made of hard resin and painted in with a chromed silver and black paint. Like most of resin props from the series it has a metal rod inside to avoid bending. It has signs of wear in the painting and scratches I believe, from the fighting scenes however the piece is still in very good condition.

A dream came true! Xena and two Gabby's

A dream came true! I always wanted to display these exact three costumes together.
Well, and the weapons behind also make it worth it, you can see Gabrielle Creation Ent. Limited Edition Sais, Creation Ent. Limited Edition Yin-Yang Chakram, Creation Ent. Limited Edition rare leather whip, Xena sword replica and scabbard.

The Xena Hero classic outfit with an screenused stunt breastplate, back plate and shoulder guards. I decided to replace the modeled plastic shoulder guards pieces for a screen-acurrate copper pieces. (Forged by Doug, twitter: @Xenawarriorreplicas). The Xena leathers are a screen-accurate replica based in season 3 & 4 with a copper medallion attached forged by the same blacksmiths that done the Xena armour copper pieces for the series. Armbands and gauntlets are Creation Ent. Limited Edition replicas made of real copper and leather. knee guards are screenused stunt double ones and boots are an early Todd Costumes replica more accurate than the last ones.

On the right hand, Gabrielle Hero classic outfit with the BGSB (Bilious Green Sports Bra), the leather belt, rustic fabric skirt, leather purse and Creation Ent. Limited Edition battle staff replica. Boots are a pair of amazon boots (stunt Varia).

On the left hand, Gabrielle Hero Season 6 outfit with the red velvet top, belt with silver pieces, red velvet skirt, orange undershorts, boots, sai straps, the cuffs were bought from the same company that sold them to the production of the series and the Creation Ent. Limited Edition S6 silver necklace. Also, my pair of screenused sais are displayed attached in the sai straps from the boots.

Hercules Screen-Accurate Gauntlets replica

Today I receive this pair of Hercules gauntlets made by Todd Coyle from toddscostumes.com. These are an early replica made by this company, this company had got a pair of screenused gauntlets and decided to reproduce them in a highly screen-accurate way, each detail is just like the ones seen on screen. I must say I was very surprised in the level of detail and the high quality of materials used in them. The metal cuffs on them are authentic sterling silver.

Each gauntlet is different, I could not choose only one of them. Soon a few photos with the Hercules vest and belt.

Gabrielle Limited Edition Staff replica

I realized that I have never posted before an entry about my Gabrielle Battle staff replica distributed by Creation Entertainment in a limited run of 500 units, this is number #355.

This Creation replica measures around 165 cm of length, probably the same size of Renée O'Connor was during the series. The original staff has a woven fabric in the middle, in this case Creation decided to used a printed fabric with the same geometric pattern like the original one. It has a few meters of yellowed rope, fur and genuine leather in the sides.

Fabric pattern close-up.

Fur and leather detailed close-up.

My Gabrielle Hero S3&4 costume matches the staff, seeing both together is awesome.

Screenworn Julius Caesar Photoshoot

Screen worn Julius Caesar costume worn by Karl Urban himself in the episode “When fates collide” from season 6, this was the last appearance of this character in the series.
During the show, the guest stars and important characters changed his costumes to a more detailed and elaborate through the seasons. The earlier costume worn by Karl Urban in the episode "Destiny" from season 2, was a resin golden armour with a some leather pieces attached, a similar shirt than the one of this outfit behind the armour, a lion leather belt with resin details, pants, resin knee guards and boots.

This costume includes the awesome copper lion head armour with the leather belt attached, leather skirt, garnet fabric skirt, garnet fabric pants, garnet shirt, leather sandals, leather scabbard, the velvet cape is screenused worn by Odin played by Alexander Petersons (same purple velvet material like the cape used by Caesar in this episode) and the screenused copper gauntlets were used in the series but not from this character (the garnet leather and copper matches the rest of the wardrobe).

General view without the cape.

Xena copper medallion

Finally I added a very special piece to my Xena Hero costume, the Xena copper medallion. A good friend from my country had decided to sell mostly all his collection and I wanted to purchase this piece.

This copper dress medallion was commissioned to one of the metalsmiths that worked as propmasters from the show, the actual person who built Xena’s hero armour from season 2 to 5. It is made of real copper, heated and hammered by hand.

A few photos of my Xena Hero costume with the copper medallion attached.

Screenworn Crias costume

Screen worn Crias costume, the honorable Titan. This costume was worn by Crias played by Edward Campbell seen in the episode from season 1 “The Titans” filmed between August-September 1995. This costume includes Crias fabric vest, belt with gold accents, gauntlets, armbands and a kind of sandals toppers. Are missing the grey pants and sandals to complete this wardrobe.

General view.

Sometimes these things give you satisfaction, be able to gather a character wardrobe that had been separated for around 21 years ago after the show ended. Is this case, the vest was in a NZ container with the stunt double one, and in other container was the rest of the accessories: gauntlets, armbands, belt and boot toppers.

When the 2001 Auction occurred many huge lots of costumes and props were sold all around the world, others never left New Zealand and many costumes and accessories were separated by people who organized the containers. From what I understand is that the batches were similar, mostly all huge batches had some roman costumes, warlords leather armors, some fabric costumes, a mix of different gauntlets, prop weapons, some women costumes (mixed of amazon, peasants, Nordic style costumes) and sometimes  were included some hero costumes of a guest starring actor or a recognizable wardrobe from the series, is the case of my Brunnilda (guest starring Britney Powell) costume that was stored with plenty of other costumes in a container.
