Rare Livia's sword

Quite rare find Livia/Eve, Xena’s daughter and the “bitch” of Rome, screen used sword prop. Probably one of the most iconic swords from the tv series.

Used by Livia played by Adrienne Wilkinson in the episodes of “Livia” and “Eve” from season 5, “The haunting of Amphipolis” and in a few flashbacks in “Path of vengeance” from season 6. This sword was used by Varia played by Tsianina Joelson in “Path of Vegeance” in season 6.

It is a rare find of an specific style of sword only used by the same character. This sword probably was used in the fight scenes to avoid any damage.

The handle, guard and pommel is made of hard resin and the blade is foam with a metal structure (rod) inside. The condition is excellent however it has signs of wear and chips in the painting.

In this photo you appreciate the intricate design of the hilt. The cross guard has the same shape of the common roman swords with a few differences. The handle that used to be made of leather strip in most of the sword seen on screen is not the case. This sword has an unique design on the handle with some flower and nature mandala reliefs.

Also, in this case the blade of this sword is quite different of the roman soldier swords. The blade is quite wide and thick on the tip. It has signs of wear and battle used marks but it is not bent.

Probably here is one of my more beloved swords of my collection. I had never thought I was going to have the chance of purchasing this amazing sword. It comes with the Turners Auction invoice.

Lights and sword holders

Some led lights and swords holders to make my show case organized and clear. 

New showcase display

After more than a decade of collecting props and replicas finally I acquired a beautiful white wood showcase that matches with the rest of my room furniture. I always have the thought that mostly all Xena props were very dark and I have to balance with a light white furniture. In the photos seems to be smaller than in real, is quite a huge showcase.

Rare Screenused "Eternal Bonds" sword prop

Probably one of the rarest swords used in the series and one of my favorites. Here is a screen used sword seen in many episodes used by different characters.

Handle close-up.

The sword is made of heavy resin with a metal rod inside to prevent it from bending. If you see the close-up photo of the cross guard, you can see that the reliefs are the same that were used in Ares sword and Callisto dagger cross guard.

We can see it in the episode “Seeds of faith” or “Eternal Bonds” from season 5 used by Xena played by Lucy Lawless. Also, was used by Gabrielle in “Little Problems”, by Palaemon in “Blind Faith”, by Thersites in “A Fistful of Dinars” and seen in many other episodes.

The Xena swords

Here are two of favorite treasures in the table. A screenused metal retractable sword used by Xena played by Lucy Lawless in the last episodes and the rare Xena Creation Entertainment battle sword replica. Battle on!

Brunnhilda hero costume & stunt costume

Here I bring you and interesting entry about the Brunnhilda costume worn by Brittney Powell and the one used by Brunnhilda stunt double, Sheree Swords. Well, as we all know the hero costume used to be more detailed, the materials are the same in both costumes however there are a few differences.

Well, let we check some differences: the main leather corset is made of brown leather in both cases although the golden pieces from the belt are totally metallic ones in Brittney Powell costume and the stunt one combines metallic and painted resin ones. Also, Brittney Powell size is bigger than the stunt that was tinier.

In addition, the stunt corset has more signs of wear than the Hero ones. Well, the green skirt made of green velvet and brown leather  is almost the same, again the Brittney size is bigger than the stunt one. The boots or better named boot covers have also some differences, the hero boot covers are a bit longer than the stunt ones, probably due to the proportionality of the height of the actresses.

Sadly, most of the jewelry of the costumes was removed to be sold in the IAW auction. And I just have a pair of the stunt wrist cuffs and there is no trace of the golden armband. Also, I just have one scabbard that came with both costumes. The costumes also came with the Stunt hanger and the clothing label hand written of Brunnhilda costume.

Travel Bag prop

This travel leather bag prop came directly from New Zealand. This big size bag made of real leather was used in the production of the Xena: Warrior Princess tv series. This style of bag was used by Xena, Gabrielle, Virgil and other characters during season 5 & 6 of tv series. 

This particular bag has several similarities with the Gabrielle horse saddle bag from the latest seasons. I am a super fan of the leather bags from the series, I think is the essence of the series on them.
